Week 4

It's week four, and the Lions have dropped their first game, but if we're being honest, this loss was a long time coming.

David Carr continues to be unimpressive, and the offensive line continues to give him no time in the pocket. Add another four interceptions to his total, and it's probably not going to stop anywhere near that. The bright side is he threw his first touchdown, and was able to make a couple of plays down the field this time(although he had absolutely no help from his receiving corps, who dropped two key passes).

The defense helped in the first half, creating two turnovers, and forcing punts, but the offense managed only 6 points out of it, while the defense itself scored 7. It still managed to let the Bucs offense walk all over them, at least through the air. That secondary needs help big time. The run defense continues to shut down backs, but it's no good when the other team is just going to throw it over their heads.

Overall, the Lions very nearly put together a good game, with a strong surge from the run late, but they just couldn't stop coughing it up. If something is not done about this, and soon, expect to see even more numbers in the loss column. It looks like the NFC North may belong to someone else this season after all.
